The results are in! The SKILLBILL Green Contest has crowned its two winning entries. Bold, creative projects that reflect the passion and power of youth to shape a sustainable and inclusive future. From Slovakia to Italy, young minds have spoken up for renewable energy and gender equality in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We’re proud to spotlight their inspiring contributions.
The Green Contest launched under the Horizon Europe-funded SKILLBILL project – Skills to Boost Innovation and Professional Fulfilment in a Sustainable Economy, encouraged young people across Europe to raise awareness. Especially about two pressing and interconnected challenges:
Participants — in two age categories, Under 14 and Over 14 — shared their ideas and commitment. Their posters, comics, videos, podcasts, and other contributions were evaluated through a combination of public voting and expert assessment by the SKILLBILL committee.
🏆 Winning Contributions
After a close contest marked by creativity and impact, we’re thrilled to present the two winning entries:
Under 14 Category – “Yes, I can”
This Slovakian entry captured the judges’ attention with its empowering message and vibrant originality. The video is a motivational piece that reinforces the belief that all children — regardless of gender — can shape a greener, more equitable future. Its clarity, inclusiveness, and energy made it a standout among submissions.
Over 14 Category – “The power of wind, the light of the community”
Representing Italy, this project explored the transformative power of wind energy in building connected, resilient, and sustainable communities. Thoughtfully structured and highly relevant to current climate and energy topics, the entry impressed with its depth, vision, and social message.
A Movement Fueled by Youth
The Green Contest confirmed that Europe’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow. They’re changemakers of today. The imagination, awareness, and critical thinking shown in every submission highlight the generation’s readiness to take part in Europe’s green and inclusive transition.
While only two entries were selected as winners, all ten finalist teams will receive a prize, as stated in the official Terms of Reference, in recognition of their valuable and thoughtful contributions.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to every participant, teacher, and supporter who contributed to making this contest a success. Together, we are growing a community of young innovators dedicated to sustainability, inclusion, and positive change.
