We are proud to announce that we were contracted by the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment to develop their LIFE IP proposal. This comes against a backdrop of previous successes in similar efforts where PEDAL was contracted to develop a similar proposal for the Slovak Ministry of Environment which emerged successful culminating into a grant of the Populair project which attracted over EUR 15m in funding for a project that will last 8 years and resultantly improve the air quality in Slovakia and surrounding countries.
PEDAL will therefore be building on this passed success as a firm foundation upon which to execute the new proposal writing contract with the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment. PEDAL’s role in this process will be the general development of the concept note, preparation of the full proposal and general coordination with the different stakeholders in the development of the proposal.
The LIFE program is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action. The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation by co-financing projects with European added value. The European Commission (DG Environment and DG Climate Action) manages the LIFE programme.
This contract further boosts PEDAL’s cross cutting capacities especially in the energy efficiency field where we are currently implementing a number of projects with others set for kickoff this month. As we start the New Year, we shall most definitely keep you informed on our journey as we continue solving pressing issues all over the globe.
We wish you a Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
