Slovakia’s Horizon Europe Results After 4.5 Years: PEDAL Consulting Maintains Its Leading Position

For more than four and a half years of Horizon Europe implementation, one fact stands out: PEDAL Consulting continues to lead all Slovak participants in the programme, achieving the highest number of approved projects among every type of institution – universities, research centres, private companies, and public organisations.

PEDAL Consulting: #1 in Slovakia across all entity types

Based on the latest data from the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (CVTI SR, October 2025), we have maintained the position of the top-performing organisation in Slovakia in Horizon Europe, measured by the total number of approved projects.

“Standing ahead of universities, research institutes, and companies with far larger teams makes this achievement unique. It proves the strength of our expertise, our partnerships, and our long-term strategic focus,” says Robert Miškuf, CEO of PEDAL Consulting.

This unique position also gives us a strong starting point for the next strategic shift – moving from non-profit innovation projects toward more commercial activities, preparing thoroughly for a potential investor entry.

Leaders not only in Slovakia – But in wider Central and Eastern Europe

PEDAL Consulting’s results extend beyond national borders. We are proud to be recognised among the leading small and medium-sized enterprises in Horizon Europe in the Central and Eastern European region, based on the number of successfully attracted and implemented projects.

This reconfirms our long-term position:

  • as a trusted partner in European collaborations,
  • actively contributing to research, innovation, sustainability, education, and the green transition,
  • and consistently performing in a competitive environment dominated by large institutions.

How Slovakia Performs in Horizon Europe Overall

The latest data also shows the broader picture of Slovakia’s participation in the programme.

  • By October 2025, Slovak entities submitted proposals to 351 Horizon Europe calls.
  • 339 projects with Slovak participation have been funded, with a combined budget exceeding €907 million.
  • Slovakia’s proposal success rate reached 19.24%, surpassing the EU-wide average of 15.21%.
  • Most active participants remain private organisations, universities, and secondary schools.
  • Slovak entities coordinate fewer projects – only 33 coordinators out of 483 participations.
  • Private organisations show above-average activity and above-average success rates, especially in Coordination and Support Actions (CSA).

Our company is one of the organisations significantly contributing to these results –  particularly in collaborative projects where Slovakia has strong potential.

We remain committed to our role in Horizon Europe as a bridge between Slovak innovators and European opportunities. Our experience and achievements motivate us to keep pushing the boundaries of what is possible
