Promotion and coordination of the development of the EU’s innovation was the main aim of a high-profile event organised by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) on 14th November 2022. The CEO of PEDAL Consulting, a leading HORIZON 2020 /Horizon Europe and COSME 2020 SME Slovak performer, had an honour to present their activities from recently awarded projects.

EIC Working Group on Innovation Procurement is composed of interested EIC Forum Members or their representatives, innovation ecosystem stakeholders, and representatives of the European Commission services. It is established to discuss how to mitigate the existing barriers in the uptake of innovation procurement and contribute to an essential cultural change in this field.

During the online meeting, Robert Miskuf spoke primarily about newly launched project on public procurement of innovation “BUILD“. He started his presentation highlighting key challenges in this sphere, such as the lack of experience, knowledge and awareness; the high-risk aversion as well as poor involvement of innovative SMEs.

“We are very happy to be part of a strong consortium which aims to create links between innovative businesses and public buyers under the BUILD project. Together with partners, we aspire to spread the innovative culture and innovative knowledge and skills within cities and regions of Europe,” explained Robert Miskuf.

He presented also activities and the key outputs of the BUILD projects to motivate and inspire other participants of the event in the field of innovation.
