EASTGATEH2V – a pioneering European project to build a fully integrated Hydrogen Valley – officially kicked off on 10. April 2025, in Košice, Slovakia. It brings together 22 partners from 7 European countries to turn Košice into a regional leader in green hydrogen technology. Coordinated by the Košice Self-Governing Region, the project has received €9 million from Clean hydrogen partnership under Horizon Europe programme. PEDAL Consulting will manage the communication and dissemination activities as well as facilitate exploitation planning to ensure long-term project benefits.

The Slovak Liaison Office for Research and Development (SLORD) recently published a comprehensive overview of Slovakia’s participation in Horizon Europe and its predecessor, Horizon 2020. 11. March 2025, Bratislava (Slovakia): PEDAL Consulting, s.r.o., together with European partners has launched a novel initiative, Open Horizons. It is designed to close the funding and corporate network gap for women-led startups in deep tech. The main goal is to significantly enhance the scalability and market reach of women-led European companies through a strategic “paid-pilot” scheme over the next 26 months. The project will invest €1.2M into up to 39 start-ups.

What are the possibilities to increase the efficiency of biogas plants? This question was at the core of the discussions during the first ALFA project international mutual learning workshop. It was held on 26. November 2024 in Poprad, Slovakia. Participants from Slovakia, Italy, Denmark, and other European countries explored ways to enhance the efficiency of biogas plants. The workshop focused on identifying alternative revenue streams for biogas plants, beyond the traditional model of selling electricity to the grid.

The PROCEDIN project, completed in September 2024, marked a significant leap in fostering innovation procurement and collaboration among key stakeholders across Europe. The initiative brought together a diverse consortium. Including the University of Twente, innovative procurement leader cities like Haarlem Municipality and Gabrovo, and innovation managers/intermediaries like F6S. Many of the outcomes, including practical tools and resources, remain accessible to anyone interested in advancing innovation procurement.

The BUILD project, completed in October 2024, made remarkable strides in enhancing the adoption and implementation of Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) across Europe.
